Job Summary

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and products related to balcony and architectural metalwork projects. You will work closely with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of material. Your role is crucial in maintaining the standards and efficiency of the projects.

This is an office-based role. Due to the location of our client, you must be able to drive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for balcony and architectural materials.
  • Managing the procurement of various products - mild steel stock and processed materials (laser cut/folding etc), aluminium stock and processed materials (laser cut/folding etc) and glass and glazed balustrade products.
  • Sourcing various project specific items.
  • Negotiate pricing, and fixed rate terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Coordinate between internal departments and be an single point of contract.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future procurement needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Managing goods-in, checking deliveries for completeness, and dealing with returns/defects.

Requirements

  • Experience in procurement would be preferable however other experience within construction will be considered.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of market trends and supplier networks in the architectural sector beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
