We are actively looking for a Quantity Surveyor for a client in Kent.
You will work within and assist the commercial and construction team to ensure successful project delivery. Your role will involve maintaining relationships, maximizing commercial returns, and managing risk.

Responsibilities:
- Implement commercial strategy.
- Support the SQS and MQS commercial functions, assisting with and taking responsibility for:
- Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontractor orders, and managing the financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors to Final Account completion.
- Maintaining site records and document control.
- Keeping site measurement records.
- Assisting in the preparation of forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
- Conducting valuations.
- Preparing variations with adequate records and details, agreeing as works progress.
- Updating projected Final Account, preparing, and submitting in a timely manner.
- Liaising with and commercially influencing/challenging the site management team.
- Maintaining and protecting the company's commercial and contractual entitlement.
- Being actively involved in and understanding the CVR process, maintaining an independent view.
- Reviewing and considering risk/opportunity.
- Developing an understanding of insurances/warranties.
- Being aware of and actively involved in ensuring good cash management.
- Supporting tender processes as required.
- Managing and overseeing AQS and TQS, checking and taking responsibility for their work.
- Involvement with and taking some responsibility for maintaining records and docs
Experience:
- Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively utilize a range of technology platforms.
- Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement.
- Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness.
- Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level and working toward the relevant professional accreditation.
- Knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
- Proficiency in letter and report writing / Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience with CVRs.
