Are you an ambitious, forward-thinking QS looking for a new opportunity in Ashford, Kent? We are actively looking for a Quantity Surveyor for an SME client.

You will work within and assist the commercial and construction team to ensure successful project delivery. Your role will involve maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns, and managing risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Commercial Manager and Managing QS on commerical functions
  • Implement the business' commercial strategy
  • Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate sub-cons, negotiation & finalise orders, financial & commercial management of sub-cons to Final Account completion. 
  • Assisting in the preparation of forecasts, targets & CVR
  • Support with tendering where required
  • Oversee and manage AQS / TQS, site records and doc control

Experience:

  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of technology platforms.
  • Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement.
  • Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness.
  • Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level and working toward the relevant professional accreditation.
  • Knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
  • Proficiency in letter and report writing / Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience with CVRs.
