Senior Hardware Engineer - Ashford, Kent

Join our client as a Senior Hardware Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge life science and medical products that will have a positive impact on the world. Based at their offices in Ashford, Kent, this is an exceptional opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital/analogue electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production, with a focus on FPGA and VHDL
  • System architectural design and concepts
  • Schematic and board layout using Altium Designer CAD tool
  • Prototype build, test, and fault-finding
  • Specification and requirements capture
  • EMC and electrical safety compliance support
  • Cost model generation, RoHS analysis, and compilation
  • Possible oversight of junior engineers

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience in digital and analogue design
  • Embedded programming expertise in C, FPGA VHDL, and advantageous experience in C++, .NET, C#, Java, or Python
  • Familiarity with CAD tools, such as Altium, for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Some exposure to EMC compliance design techniques and knowledge of safety and EMC standards
  • Clear and concise report writing with good attention to detail
  • Competency with Microsoft Office products
  • Willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Ideally 8+ years of design experience, though exceptional candidates with lower experience will be considered
