Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to work full-time within our SEN school environment. In this role, you'll provide essential support to classroom teachers and work closely with our students to help them overcome academic, social, and behavioural challenges. This is an ideal position for someone with a passion for special educational needs, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons tailored to meet students' diverse needs, ensuring an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Organise and prepare classroom resources and activities designed for students with additional learning needs.
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support, focusing on individualised learning plans.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes student well-being, confidence, and independence.
  • Supervise and support students throughout the school day, including breaks and lunchtimes, maintaining a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and contributing to the adaptation of support strategies as needed.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Patience, empathy, and flexibility when working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to the school community.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures (training will be provided).
    • An Enhanced child-only DBS check, Overseas Police Clearances (if required), and professional references
    • A complete 10-year work history on your CV, with any gaps explained
    • Legal eligibility to work in the UK
