Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an organised Learning Support Assistant looking for your next role in Ashford supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a hardworking Learning Support Assistant to work in Ashford supporting pupils with SEMH. The role is to start ASAP and will be full-time. It is a temporary long-term role, with the possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to students with SEMH needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement tailored strategies to address individual students' needs.
  • Offer one-on-one support and small group interventions to facilitate academic and social development.
  • Promote a positive and nurturing atmosphere, fostering emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs beneficial but not essential
  • Understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
