GSL Education’s Newcastle branch is currently seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to join a fantastic school in Ashington. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with students, helping them stay engaged, and ensuring the smooth running of the classroom in the teacher’s absence.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work closely with both students and teachers, supporting the learning environment and contributing to the overall success of the school.

Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
• Ensure students remain focused and on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
• Support students with their learning and answer questions when needed.
• Report back to teachers about the progress and behaviour of students.

To be a successful Cover Supervisor, you should:

• Have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or experience working with children (preferred).
• Possess strong classroom management skills.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to inspire students.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Show a genuine interest in education and student development.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
