GSL Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Post 16 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Ashington. This is a fantastic opportunity to help students with diverse learning needs thrive.
About the Role:
As a Post 16 Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll support students aged 16 and over, helping them succeed in their education. You will assist teachers in delivering lessons, provide one-on-one support, and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment. You'll also help students with coursework, develop study skills, and encourage both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities of a Post 16 Teaching Assistant:
- Support Individual Learning: Assist in creating and implementing tailored learning plans for post-16 students.
- Provide Targeted Support: Offer one-to-one and small group support based on each student's needs.
- Monitor Progress: Track student progress and adjust support strategies to help them reach their goals.
- Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a united approach to each student’s education.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a classroom where all students feel valued and supported.
- Engage Students: Use various methods to motivate students and cater to different learning styles.
- Keep Records: Maintain detailed records of student progress and share with relevant staff.
Requirements to be a Post 16 Teaching Assistant:
- Experience: Prior experience supporting post-16 students is essential.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with everyone at the school.
- Commitment: A patient and empathetic approach to helping students.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education are desirable but not essential.
