GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support post-16 students in a specialist educational setting in Ashington. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.
Responsibilities of the SEN TA Post 16:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to post-16 students with SEN, helping them develop independence and life skills.
- Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and adapting materials to meet individual student needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a nurturing and structured learning environment.
- Support students' emotional and social development, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs, where required.
Requirements of the SEN TA Post 16:
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly post-16 learners, is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support students and collaborate with staff.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- A proactive approach to professional development and continuous learning.
