GSL Education is looking for a passionate and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support post-16 students with special educational needs in Ashington. If you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people, this role could be perfect for you!

What You'll Do as a SEN Teaching Assistant – Post 16:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for post-16 students with SEN.
  • Help students build independence and life skills.
  • Assist in delivering personalised lessons and adapting materials to meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive and structured environment.
  • Support students’ emotional and social development and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Help with personal care and mobility when needed.

What You Need to be a SEN Teaching Assistant – Post 16:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students (especially post-16) is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to work well with both students and staff.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one).
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • A proactive approach to developing your professional skills.
