What a SEN Teaching Assistant – Post-16  Be Doing:
- Providing personalised 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assisting in delivering tailored lessons and adapting resources to suit individual learning styles.
- Helping students develop key life skills and encouraging independence.
- Supporting emotional well-being and promoting positive, respectful behaviour.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff to create a nurturing learning environment.
- Offering support with personal care and mobility when required.
What We’re Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant – Post-16:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEN, ideally within a Post-16 setting.
- A calm, caring, and resilient approach to working with young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and a proactive mindset.
