Maintenance Technician - Northumberland - Day Shift

Our client, a successful business in the North East, is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician - Mechanical Bias, to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the Maintenance Technician Role

As Maintenance Technician - Mechanical Bias, you will be maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure continued manufacturing, performing all tasks within the ISO (Apply online only) Quality Management, H&S and environmental systems.  The role will cover both Mechanical and Electrical maintenance.

Other responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician will include:

  • Installation of new production equipment.

  • Planned and reactive maintenance of production equipment and site facilities.

  • Delivering production processes that are appropriate for the manufacturing environment, and that meet manufacturing objectives.

  • Conforming to procedures that are compliant to ISO, GMP and all other applicable agency regulations and standards.

  • Communicate opportunities to develop most efficient processes.

  • Support the Engineering Manager with plant projects as required.

About You

You will have previous experience in a similar Maintenance Technician role with a Mechanical Bias and some knowledge of Electrical engineering, preferably with experience in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology environment.

Other requirements include:

  • A strong understanding of machine operation and production processes.

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO quality systems, validation principles for manufacturing processes and statutory facility requirements.

  • Experience with statistical techniques (e.g., DOE, SPC, Six Sigma problem solving).
