Installation Team Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated Installation Team Leader to oversee our client’s heating installation quotes and associated orders within their Gas Installation Department. This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of our installations by managing quotes, ordering materials, and supporting the team with efficiency and accuracy.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the preparation of heating installation quotes, ensuring all details are accurate and compliant with contract requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers to compare prices and secure the best deals for materials and parts.
- Act as an escalation point for any issues related to quotes, orders, or supplier concerns.
- Lead, supervise, and train the team, providing ongoing support, conducting appraisals, and ensuring high performance through regular performance reviews.
- Ensure a full understanding of SOR’s (Schedule of Rates) for each contract, verifying quotes and VO’s (variation orders) as required.
- Monitor outstanding PO’s (purchase orders) and follow up to ensure timely processing.
- Maintain efficiency in the quote and ordering process to optimise workflow and reduce delays.
- Manage stock levels, clearing old stock where necessary to maximise margins.
- Monitor and improve purchasing efficiency to reduce waste and unnecessary costs.
- Oversee returns and credits, ensuring all processes are followed correctly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role, ideally within a heating, plumbing, or installation environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in quotes and orders.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing training and support as needed.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills to secure cost-effective purchasing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
