Overview:
Our client is a specialist multi-disciplinary design and engineering business serving the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. They are dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality solutions to their clients, ranging from sensitive research facilities to complex sterile manufacturing environments.

They are currently seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their multi-disciplined design team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the development of architectural solutions that meet their clients diverse range requirements. Working closely with their design and installation teams, you will be responsible for undertaking detailed surveys, preparing design and working drawings, and assisting in the planning and procurement phases of projects.


The Role:
Reporting to the Design Lead, you will have responsibility for the Architectural design processes from concept through detailed design including an involvement when required to assist in delivering the project on site.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Undertake detailed surveys to gather necessary information for design development.
  • Prepare design and working drawings in accordance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop construction specifications to ensure project compliance and quality standards.
  • Assist in planning works for design and procurement phases, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare drawings and documentation for statutory submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, including the preparation of design risk assessments.
  • Identify opportunities to provide unique design solutions to enhance project profitability.

The Person:

Suitable candidates should be able to demonstrate:
  • Ideally you will hold BSc or HNC qualification in relevant subject.
  • Experience in the design and coordination of turnkey projects.
  • You will have an excellent knowledge of current legislation, requirements, and best practice in order to ensure all design works are in compliance with all necessary UK standards.
  • Experience of supporting projects in the pharmaceutical, life-science or healthcare markets would be an advantage.
  • Fully conversant in using REVIT. With a good working knowledge of family creation and utilising the 3D render process to illustrate design for client purposes.
  • Thorough understanding of CDM regulations and their application in architectural design.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver fully coordinated and integrated design solutions.
