Children’s Team Manager, TamesidePay rate, £45 per hourTameside Cared for Children's service is recruiting for an interim Team Manager. The successful candidate will have team manager responsibility for children who are cared for by the Local Authority under a Care Order, section 20 and separated migrants. Responsibilities will include line management and supervisory responsibility for 6 Social Workers and a Senior Practitioner. Tameside is on an improvement journey, and we are driving forward practice improvements across the service, with good progress being seen so far, so it is an exciting time to join the service. The role involves chairing meetings, including strategy meetings, personal and child supervision with Social Workers, staff development, risk identification and robust risk management, progressing children's permanency plans and ensuring robust and timely transition planning for young people. Hybrid working with minimum 3 days per week in the office and a full week when team is on duty.Job Objectives: -
  1. To be responsible for a team providing assessment, planning and intervention services to children in need of a statutory assessment.
  2. To be responsible for the team-based development of high-quality social work and looked after children practice by ensuring that case work is appropriately planned, critically evaluated and reviewed and that key performance indicators are met.
  3. To contribute to overall strategic planning and management of the service and to the development of high-quality services.
  4. To lead the team ensuring that the functions of the Service are carried out effectively and in accordance with the legislation, regulations, guidance standards and local procedures and priorities.
  5. To continually improve services in the light of service user views, performance data and stakeholder feedback.
