A well-established manufacturer supplying major UK retailers is looking for a team leader with strong man management skills to be responsible for a small team of machinists operating a range of wood cutting equipment. This is a hands-on role working alongside the team in a busy light manufacturing environment.

As Team Leader you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, motivating and overseeing a team of production operatives to ensure schedules are met within required time frames and to set QC standards.
  • Supporting and training operatives and maintaining records.
  • Driving standards and monitoring quality controls to reduce issues and delays
  • Health and safety departmental responsibility
  • Troubleshooting machinery issues and developing improved production techniques.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in light manufacturing within a wood/MDF environment ideal but not essential.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team
  • Highly organised with strong administration and communication skills.
  • Interest in process improvement and increasing performance
  • Hardworking and motivated with a can-do attitude happy to lead by example
