The School and Role
A specialist school in Tameside are looking for 2 SEMH Teacher's dedicated to making a positive impact on the education and social skills of children with social, emotional and mental health needs. The SEMH Teacher role will involve implementing the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4 for one position and Key Stage 1 and 2 for the second position. This position will require the right candidate to be confident in responding to the pastoral needs of the pupils in a caring and empathetic manner. They have a supportive staff team who effectively share expertise, skills and knowledge and promote an ethos of disciplined behaviour to ensure effective learning. The school are open to teachers from a variety of curriculum subject backgrounds.

Requirements
The desired SEMH Teacher will:

  • Possess the desire to develop and deliver an adapted curriculum suited to excluded pupils and those at risk of exclusion.
  • Understand the communication skills required to teach children with barriers to learning and who may be disengaged with education.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to inclusive education practices and ensuring equal opportunities for all students regardless of their background.
