This is full-time role beginning March 2025 and will run until at least the end of May with the possibility of an extension. The school will consider applications from teachers with KS2 experience, strong subject knowledge and an awareness of age-related expectations and transitions across KS2.

About the Role
As the KS2 intervention teacher, you will be responsible for ensuring pupils across KS2 who are not meeting age related expectations achieve rapid progress. The role will involve working with small groups of children in years 6 on a weekly rota. You will be expected to recognise and respond to misconceptions in learning, address missed curriculum content and bridge the gaps in order to accelerate progress.
You will liaise regularly with class teachers to create group intervention plans and deliver learning to target specific objectives.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Plan effective and engaging lessons to small groups of children across years 6
- Demonstrate a secure knowledge and understanding of the KS2 curriculum, age related expectations and transitions through this primary phase of learning
- Liaise with class teachers to map out objectives and address curriculum content to be covered
- Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on mutual respect
- Ensure activities are relevant, meaningful and include ranging strategies that allow pupils to succeed
- Utilise innovative approaches that cater for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning preferences
- Use a range of assessment strategies to review, report and reflect on daily practice and report regularly to class teachers to feedback on individual pupil progress
- Analyse data in relation to targets set and adjust planning/strategies as necessary.
To be successful in this KS2 intervention teacher role:
-You must hold QTS status or an equivalent teaching qualification.-This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.-Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained-Have the legal right to work in the UK.The school is driven by a strong leadership team who work together to achieve desired goals.
