We are recruiting for a Sales Engineer to work on a permanent basis for a large, and well established, engineering firm based near Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer with a strong background in engineering/manufacturing.

Salary is c33-38,000 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience) plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company bonus, pension, healthcare, career progression opportunitiesetc.

Duties/Responsibilities for the Sales Engineer:

  • Analyse and interpret engineering data from diverse customers to determine manufacturing requirements.
  • Break down technical specifications to identify the necessary manufacturing disciplines.
  • Engage with external suppliers as needed, ensuring timely delivery through effective expediting.
  • Manage and track customer inquiries and project progress using a CRM system.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns to deliver competitive pricing to customers.
  • Develop and present detailed submission documents for client proposals.
  • Collaborate with the team to fully understand and meet customer requirements.

Sales Engineer Profile:

  • Strong engineering background with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Commercially savvy with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to precision.
  • Adept at working collaboratively within a dynamic, customer-focused sales team.
  • Motivated, team-oriented, and capable of handling a fast-paced workload.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools.
