This is an exciting opportunity to work as an SEMH Teacher in an Alternative Provision in Tameside. You will be delivering a bespoke curriculum to small classes of KS3/4 students with social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural difficulties. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Implement strategies to support students communication and social skills development.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including Teaching Assistants, SENCO, and external specialists, to provide holistic support to students.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
- Experience working with students with SEMH and strong behaviour management skills.
- Proven experience in leadership/ management role within a school.
- Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs, including SEMH and behavioural challenges.
- Ability to take initiative and develop strategies to promote positive and independent learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
