Due to our continual growth, we are recruiting for an experienced Direct Tax Lead to join our diverse National Finance & Administration team for the UK and Ireland’s 4th largest grocer!

As a Direct Tax Lead, you will be responsible for the UK and Irish corporate tax compliance and tax reporting under FRS102 and IFRS. You will be responsible for reviewing transfer pricing documentation and capital allowance claims, making corporate tax payments and keeping up to date with corporate tax legislation changes.

Your New Role:

  • Responsibility for the UK and Irish Corporate Tax compliance and tax reporting
  • Review and contribute to the preparation of Group transfer pricing documentation
  • Reviewing capital allowance claims and processes
  • Responsibility for tax payments and forecasting 
  • Responsibility for the Corporate Tax governance documentation 
  • Part of the Aldi South Group Tax community and supporting on delivery of group objectives 
  • Supporting the Tax Manager on Corporate Tax initiatives 
  • Identifying areas of process improvement and implementing change 
  • Building relationships with colleagues in Finance, Property and Group Tax 
  • Liaising with external advisers and auditors 
  • Supporting the business and providing training

About You:

  • Experience in corporate tax compliance and tax accounting gained either in practice or inhouse
  • Excellent corporate tax technical skills
  • Project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A willingness to learn new skills in a changing tax landscape
  • Exceptional attention to detail when handling business critical information
  • Experience working in a busy business department managing multiple work streams
  • People management skills
  • Ideally will hold a professional tax or accounting qualification
  • Ideally you will have an interest in tax technology
