Reporting directly to the Engineering Shift Leader the Maintenance Engineer overall responsibility is to work with as part of engineering team to provide effective and efficient mechanical and electrical support throughout the Factory.

Day Shifts Wednesday - Saturday £42,745 (42.5 hours weekly)

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Responsible for own Health & Safety as well as colleagues and working environment.
  • Reactive support in the factory.
  • Continuous improvement projects planned through the maintenance system and planned maintenance tasks.
  • Working with a wide range of complex automated primary, cutting and packaging processes.
  • Ensure routine maintenance is carried out to support an upturn in OEE.
  • Carry out maintenance activities, ensuring that the manufacturing team achieve 100% compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime.
  • Carry out engineering work to good standard, safely and in timely manner.
  • Fully engaged in supporting the engineering maintenance strategy to move from a reactive breakdown philosophy to proactive and preventative maintenance.
  • To step change the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ensure workshop is kept to a good standard, clean and tidy.
  • Keep all tools in good serviceable condition and make sure they are fit for purpose.
  • Complete Job reports/tickets each shift.
  • Assist Shift Leader in duties to ensure smooth running of shift.
  • Liaise with production and prioritise work in best interests of production and company

MUST HAVES

  • City & Guilds/ BTEC Level 3 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 years plus experience in a FMCG environment.
  • Engagement in developing and maintaining a world class engineering department.
  • Able to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.
  • The ability to think quickly and logically to respond to an emergency.
  • Excellent observation, an eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication to work in partnership with others.
