Role OverviewThe Accounts Assistant will support the Finance team with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all tasks. This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment. Based in the picturesque Aviemore location, this position provides an excellent opportunity to grow within a respected hospitality brand.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Processing invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Reconciliation: Monthly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and handling discrepancies with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Maintaining up-to-date financial records in the companys accounting software and generating routine reports for the Finance Manager.
- Support Month-End Close: Assisting with the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and preparing financial documents as required.
- Administrative Support: Providing support for general finance administration tasks, including filing, scanning, and responding to queries from internal teams and external suppliers.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, while upholding Macdonald Hotels' commitment to quality.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Education: A qualification in finance, accounting, or business is desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a commitment to accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally across departments.
