35- 40kpa plus benefits, 6 Months Contract
The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for several key accounting areas within the transactional environment, ensuring ledger integrity, effectiveness of financial controls and correct application of technical accounting treatment. This is a contract role, due to an internal secondment onto a project.
Key Duties:-
* Ownership of high-profile month end processes to directly drive accurate and meaningful revenue reporting.
* Improve financial integrity by identifying relevant reference to wider revenue reporting processes, extending knowledge to the P&L management pack and weekly reporting process. Identify effective controls through comparison and reconciliation of key P&L revenue lines.
* Ownership and technical accounting application to all assigned balance sheet reconciliations. Completion of complex month end reconciliation ready for manager review including full validation of balances and explanation of variances and discrepancies to expected results.
* Ownership of the monthly credit card risk reconciliation to include production and interrogation resulting in meaningful commentary of position. Overall ownership of the balance sheet liability and accounting controls.
* Responsibility for all aspects of the discount voucher accounting and resulting journals to the finance system ledgers, demonstrating a depth of knowledge and understanding of the company process and data flow leading to P&L impact.
* Overseeing the company's card payment gateway interactions to include bank statement postings and subsequent reconciliation, card provider settlement reconciliation for all receipts, fees & chargebacks.
The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of double entry book-keeping and basic accounting principles backed up with a part qualified status in a relevant qualification (ACCA, CIMA). Given the contract nature of the role, the candidate will be required to start ASAP, future opportunities may well be available in the business as the contract role develops.
