An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and inclusive team based in Aylesbury. What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the delivery of financial and regulatory reporting. You will be responsible for supporting the finance management team in coordinating activities and ensuring all key deliverables are met. Your role will involve analysing results, querying figures, providing insights on data available, and contributing significantly to various projects. You will also liaise with third parties such as external auditors and fund custodians to resolve any queries. Your commitment to maintaining a compliant culture that meets expected conduct measures including regulatory requirements will be crucial.

  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team in delivering monthly, half yearly and annual financial and regulatory reporting
  • Support the Finance management team in coordinating activities ensuring all key deliverables are met on time
  • Ensure accuracy of returns such as Solvency II and submit them on time
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of financial positions including Statutory Accounts and Solvency II returns
  • Analyse results, query figures and provide insights on the data available
  • Contribute significantly to projects providing appropriate financial input as necessary
  • Liaise with third parties including external auditors and fund custodians to resolve any queries
  • Maintain a compliant culture that meets expected conduct measures including regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the regulatory environment in respect of Solvency II and related areas

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant position is a qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA; CIMA) with experience in the life insurance industry, regulations, finance operations and reporting. You will have knowledge and experience of Solvency II and IFRS 17 regulations and requirements. Your strong financial analyst skills will enable you to solve complex problems that have broad impacts. A good working knowledge of General Ledger and Microsoft Excel is essential. Additionally, your knowledge of systems implementation will be beneficial.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA; CIMA)
  • Experience in life insurance industry regulations, finance operations and reporting
  • Knowledge and experience of Solvency II and IFRS 17 regulations and requirements
  • Good working knowledge of General Ledger and Microsoft Excel
