Statutory Accountant – Immingham – To £70,000 + bonusChase & Holland are proud to be working with a highly reputable, growing and fast-moving engineering business that has a turnover over £1 billion. This is a newly created Statutory Accountant role to support with the international growth success. This role would suit a technically strong accountant who has worked through audit cycles, possibly first or second move from practice. The role also involves working with tax compliance and will be working alongside external advisors so some experience in this would be beneficial. Due to the international growth, you will play a key part in researching and meeting compliance needs for the Group in new international territories.  In Return You’ll Receive:

Statutory Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Support with the statutory audit cycle
  • Prepare IFRS individual and consolidated financial statements for presentation to the auditors
  • Calculate and prepare technical accounting schedules and papers for inclusion in the management accounts or for presentation to auditors.
  • Accounting for acquisitions and disposals
  • Technically up to date with the ability to research accounting issues
  • Identify, prepare and calculate consolidation adjustments and supporting schedules
  • Prepare/review the month end Balance Sheet reconciliations for the group
  • Draft the monthly and year end corporation and deferred tax provisions
  • VAT compliance and ad-hoc queries
  • Interrogating and analysing accounting entries and issues.
  • Building new processes and to continually improve those currently in place
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) who is technically strong including IFRS and consolidation
  • Experience of audit cycles essential
  • Ability to prepare IFRS financial statements from a trial balance
  • Ability to investigate and resolve variances
  • Understanding or experience of working in a strong control environment
