The Role:Our client are seeking a driven and highly capable Senior Actuarial Trainee Analyst to join their Actuarial team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role, working independently and mentoring actuarial trainees, while contributing to the financial and strategic management of the company.
Key Responsibilities:As a Senior Actuarial Trainee Analyst, you will:
- Collaborate with the Actuarial team to meet departmental objectives set by the Actuarial Manager.
- Lead the development of models and processes to improve efficiency and enhance financial insight.
- Contribute to key departmental activities, including:
- Solvency II valuation (Pillars I, II, and III), UK GAAP, and IFRS reporting.
- Supporting financial projections and planning.
- Managing with-profits business, including investment strategies and bonus rate recommendations.
- Pricing annuity business and policy alteration terms.
- Conducting experience analyses and recommending valuation assumptions.
- Developing and maintaining actuarial models.
- Performing asset liability management and ad hoc tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with FCA and PRA conduct standards, including Consumer Duty rules.
- Notify regulators of reportable matters as necessary.
What We’re Looking For:
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Solvency II (Pillars I, II, and III), UK GAAP, and IFRS reporting.
- Expertise in actuarial modelling systems and financial projections.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent report writing skills, from detailed technical specifications to high-level stakeholder reports.
- A proactive, positive approach with the ability to work independently and in ambiguous situations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Part-qualified actuary.
- Experience working within the Actuarial Function of a UK life insurer is highly desirable
