Field Labourer

Permanent - 39 hours per week plus overtime

Our client is looking for a Field Labourer to join their large, team-oriented department which supports customers in their homes and commercial buildings.  This is a field-based role, and you will be provided with a van depending on location.  We are looking for multiple people in this area - 2 - so get applying and recommend the role to anyone you know who might be interested.  These roles are based across the midlands region of Buckinghamshire/Milton Keynes.  You can be based in any of these areas to be suitable.  

This role will see you supporting customers in their homes and commercial buildings (such as offices, supermarkets, cinema, churches, anything commercial) with their restoration and repair.  You will work a 39-hour week and can work at an overtime rate over 39 hours.  You may be required to work away, and you will need to assure that you have a driveway or somewhere visible to park the van if kept overnight.  Full training will be given for the role which will see you develop great technical skills in the field of restoration and repair.  The company is hugely invested in personal training and career development.  

Role responsibilities will include: 

  • Representing the company in a professional manner in all situations
  • Demonstrating empathy, understanding and listening skills when interacting with customers face to face
  • Carrying out maintenance, removal and repair work in commercial and residential buildings
  • Attending daily toolbox talks to ensure all health and safety concerns are being met, and that the job is progressing as planned
  • Ensure van is equipped, clean and serviced
  • Providing meaningful updates to the customer
  • Request equipment and materials in sufficient time
  • Ensure use of correct documents and ensuring correct billing details and purchase orders are obtained

To be suitable for this role, you will:

  • Hold a UK manual driving licence
  • Come from a labouring, construction or technician background, willing to do physical work which can require heavy lifting
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Have a good understanding of computer packages
  • Use strong verbal communication skills and good organisation/administration abilities
  • Have the willingness to travel across the region and stay away from home as required
