A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef with a passion for food to join a prestigious French Renaissance-style country house and major National Trust property, blending historical grandeur with cultural heritage. This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a salary range of £33,000 - £35,000 for 42 hours work week.

As a Sous Chef, you will lead the kitchen team when the Head Chef is away, supervise and motivate junior staff, and assist in menu design and implementation. They will provide accommodation after a 3-month probation period.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the highest food quality, manage food production, and oversee portion control.
  • Support in recruiting, training, and motivating kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness and compliance with hygiene regulations.
  • Oversee equipment use, report any issues, and ensure proper training for staff.
  • Help manage budgets, secure stock and equipment, and maintain financial records.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as a Sous Chef, Deputy Chef, Second Chef, Senior Chef, Senior Chef de Partieor in a similar role.
  • Passion for food.
  • Background in HACCP & Food Hygiene.
  • Understanding of current food trends and seasonal ingredients.
  • Ideally hold a culinary qualification.
  • Right to work in the UK.
