The Role:
- Supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging activities to the nursery children
- Feeding back on children’s progress to both the class teacher and parents
- Writing observations that are effective in planning for individual children
- Providing a safe and stimulating environment
- Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies and help keep children on task
- Interact with children based on their interests and according to individual needs and abilities
- Provide support to pupils with particular learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of children with special needs ensuring access to activities through appropriate clarification, explanation and resources
- To assist in planning and evaluation of children’s development to ensure progress is made
- Record detailed observations on each child and link relevant assessment statements to the observations
- Use a child lead approach to plan activities and support children learning
- Have a group of key children

Requirements:
- Must be NVQ level 3 qualified in Early Years/ childcare
- Must have previous experience of working within a nursery environment (this can include placement and work experience)
- Having a sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum is essential
