Site Inspector

Hours - 40 per week
Days - Monday and Friday

Main Responsibilities and Duties

路Ensure the Contractor adheres to the Contract Specification Testing & Certification requirements within it and the Contractor's site quality plan.聽聽 Promote best practice across the Delivery Team.
路Observe the Contractor's working operations for compliance with the Specification and Undertake the recording of daily on-going works (plant, people, gangs, weather etc) and specific matters as requested by the Supervision or Commercial teams.
路Inspect works that will be covered up as part of the permanent works and work collaboratively at source with the contractor to correct work that is Defective.
路Agree defective works with the Contractor and record on the site quality systems.
路Suggest areas for improvement to the Supervisor.
路Observe the on-site health and safety aspects of the Contractor's operations and inform the Contractor's Supervision staff and the Supervisor of key H&S risks / and or areas for improvement.
路Attendance at meetings as requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

路Significant relevant practical work experience within the Highways or Bridge sector.
路Trade qualification or HNC in Civil or Building related discipline.
路Familiar with the MCHW - Specification for Highway Works and associated testing and inspection protocols.
路Ability to read drawings and Specifications and understand key testing points.
路Driving Licence
路CSCS Card
路NRSWA supervisor for the highways inspector

Competencies & Behaviours

路Ability to liaise confidently (and if necessarily assertively) with the Contractor on all testing technical matters and inspections as required.
路Ability to work within a team and request support where necessary.
路Proactive approach to the resolution of issues.
路Diligent and logical approach to problem solving and record keeping.
路Ability to liaise confidently with the Contractor on all observed unsafe health and safety practices or near misses.
路Good communication skills working within a collaborative team environment.
路Excellent record management skills (e.g., daily diaries) including the use of app-based record keeping products.
路Familiarity and competence in the use of Office software / data capture devices and apps
