SALARY: 26,520 per annum / 12.75 per Hour + Vehicle + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Due to the nature of the work site locations are predominantly scattered over an 80km stretch between Aylesbury and Royal Leamington Spa. You would be required to travel to site locations between the two. Though flexibility to travel throughout the UK is beneficial.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
PLEASE NOTE: You will need a full, valid Driving Licence. A fully expensed vehicle will be provided.
The job role is physically demanding in that you will need to carry equipment and sampling containers over short distances often in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity within our team for a Trainee Geo-Environmental Technician who has a CSCS Card and a Geology or Environmental degree.
Working as the Trainee Geo-Environmental Technician you will assist in carrying out environmental / geotechnical monitoring and sampling along with the associated administrative and reporting duties.
As the Trainee Geo-Environmental Technician you will need to enjoy working outside in all weather conditions. This role will involve carrying equipment to site which can be quite physically demanding.
As a successful candidate you will join a company that offers an extensive training and development program which will commence after you complete their probationary period. Company induction, initial basic training & PPE issue will be provided from commencement of your employment. A suitable vehicle will also be provided.

DUTIES
Once you are trained your duties as a Trainee Geo-Environmental Technician will include:
- Attend site to obtain groundwater & surface water samples
- Operate sampling equipment
- Liaising with third parties to arrange site access
- Liaise with testing laboratories, to arrange testing of samples, delivery of consumables
- Manage data from laboratories
- Other geotechnical monitoring requirements associated with our works
- Liaise with clients
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Interest in environmental monitoring and earth sciences
- Ability to use computer for email, MS Word and Excel
- A valid driving license, a vehicle will be provided
- Awareness of geotechnical sampling and testing is not required but considered an asset
- Site experience useful, but not essential
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and written communication skills
- Resourcefulness, initiative, and the ability to work unsupervised
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and a practical mindset
- A motivated and hardworking individual is essential for this position
- The position requires the candidate to hold a full valid UK driving license
