Role Description:

Our client, a company with a strong presence in the FM and Aviation sectors, has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Operations to join their Team. As Head of Operations, you will work to ensure the full delivery of all customer contracts, managing the contract management Team through target-driven performance requirements, structured review meetings and working closely with customers. You will foster strong relationships with customers through new and existing business opportunities and will provide the operational delivery of the Division to Directors and the SLT. The ideal Head of Operations will ideally have experience in a customer facing role, with a track record of building relationships. You will also have proven experience in aviation and the FM sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a forward-thinking, innovative Team who are dedicated to providing an excellent service to its clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee operations within the Aviation Division based on the following leadership tasks: Plan/Decide, Inform/Instruct, Monitor/Motivate

  • Manage budgets as per contract

  • Manage and control wages

  • Manage staff relations, including schedules, disciplinary/grievance (in coordination with HR) and any other issues regarding operations managers within the aviation department

  • Initiate and develop positive solutions to any challenges

  • Create a constructive team environment through daily two-way communication and motivation

  • Support Aviation Operation Managers in challenging client situations

  • Manage aviation customer/client relations to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction

  • Ensure digital solutions are utilised across contracts, reporting failures and suggesting improvements

  • Report on a weekly and monthly basis to Commercial Director

  • Assist the company's ambitious UK aviation growth strategy

  • Meet with the MD and the senior management team on a weekly / monthly basis and as per requirement

  • Attend each of the company's UK airports at least weekly and oversees monthly

  • Attend monthly/quarterly client meeting with all airports

  • Attend training courses where and when necessary

  • Contribute to PQQ’s and tender as requested by Business Development / MD and attend Tender Presentations as per requirement

  • Liaison between IT providers and UK operations / business

  • Creation and maintenance of policies, guides, documents in relation to aviation if required

Requirements:

  • Proven successful working relationships with high-end service providers

  • Experience in a customer facing role, with a proven track record of building client relationships

  • A motivator and leader of people

  • Strong leadership qualities across all levels of the business

  • Excellent knowledge of IT programmes such as MS Office / O365

  • P&L accountability for all contracts

  • Commercial awareness

  • Strong communicator

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Be prepared to travel and work away from home as the contract dictates

  • Experience in aviation

  • Experience in the FM industry

  • Bachelor and/or Master degree standard of education preferred
