Job Description

Syntech Recruitment is partnered with a leading engineering organisation to find a Senior Applications Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for delivering innovative engineering solutions, working on challenging projects that make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design systems that meet client requirements, including relevant specifications and high standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers or lead mechanical design efforts to optimise projects.
  • Negotiate with procurement and suppliers to secure competitive material costs.
  • Utilise internal and external resources to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
  • Communicate directly with clients and cross-functional teams when required.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, helping to grow and develop the team.
  • Assist other departments when necessary, contributing across various functions.

What We're Looking For:

  • A technical degree as a minimum, ideally with Chartered status or currently working towards it.
  • Demonstrable experience with commercial codes such as Aspen or HTRI.
  • Proven track record in designing systems, including relevant technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME VIII and other pressure vessel codes.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and leading teams.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
