Position: Band 6 Physiotherapist
Location: Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Olympic Lodge (22-bedded unit)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay Rates: £21 - £23 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Until March 2025 (with possibility of extension)

Role Overview:
- Work within a 22-bedded unit at Olympic Lodge, providing physiotherapy to patients who are medically fit for discharge (MFFD) but do not require acute care.
- Treat patients with a wide variety of conditions, working in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and external agencies to facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.
- Provide physiotherapy assessments, treatments, and rehabilitation to patients awaiting discharge.
- Ensure holistic care is provided in line with individual patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy interventions tailored to the needs of patients in a rehabilitation setting.
- Work alongside social services, nursing teams, and external agencies to coordinate discharge planning.
- Contribute to MDT meetings and patient care planning.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or students within the team.
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
- Experience working in rehabilitation, acute, or discharge planning settings is preferred.
- Strong communication and team-working skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
