We have several fantastic temporary positions available working with our client Buckinghamshire Council!OverviewOn behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Redaction Officer to join the Information Management team in Aylesbury. Working alongside the Senior Information Governance Officer you’ll work closely with the Data Protection team to ensure that information to be released to requestors will not place the Council at risk of data breaches, by checking that any exempt data is redacted from any responsesTemporary – 3 monthsHours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:30pmPay Rate - £16.44 per hourStart Date - ASAPWork Schedule – Mix of office and home workingLocation – Aylesbury basedAbout the roleAs a Redaction Officer, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
  • Work in compliance with the Council’s legal duties in relation to data management and information governance, processing, and redacting requests for information on behalf of the Council.
  • Review information as appropriate to determine what information can be shared with the requester and what information needs to be removed in accordance with legislation.
  • Consult with the Senior Information Governance Officer, Council colleagues and other agencies and professionals as required to ensure any information to be provided is obtained, checked, redacted, and handled sensitively to protect the privacy of those concerned.
  • Providing accurate advice, guidance, and empathetic support to requestors, ensuring this complies with the DPA, and supporting legislation.
  • Notify the Senior Information Governance Officer of any data incidents or breaches as required to ensure Council processes are followed and the data subject can be notified.
This is a temporary position for three months initially with potential to extend. The pay rate is £16.44 per hour PAYE, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week. This post allows for hybrid working with two days in the office, or fully office based if preferred.The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 1UA) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.About youThe successful candidate(s) should have:
  • Previous experience as a Redaction Officer or similar is essential
  • Ability to plan and manage your own workload, cope with changing priorities and use your initiative to consider problems
  • Public sector experience is desired but not essential
  • A standard DBS check will be required for this role at the cost of the successful applicant
