Senior Buyer - Facilities ProcurementLocation: Denham, Uxbridge (Onsite with one day WFH flexibility

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Senior Buyer within our Indirect Sourcing department, you'll play a key role in sourcing and managing procurement for Facilities Management services. Your expertise in facilities procurement will be crucial as you oversee the strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, and compliance with budgetary guidelines.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure that facilities-related services meet operational and quality standards. There are high-impact projects on the horizon, and you'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy, supplier selection, and planning of these projects.

You will manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that performance is tracked against KPIs and risks are identified and mitigated. Your role will also involve leading RFX exercises, contract management (with legal support), and working alongside colleagues in Facilities and Health & Safety to ensure that all services meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement of facilities-related goods and services, including vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance meets KPI targets and proactively addressing issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to assess sourcing needs and streamline procurement processes.
  • Work on high-impact projects within the facilities sector, including overseeing supplier selection, planning, and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with internal systems, policies, and governance processes, and maintain supplier data.
  • Help improve operational efficiencies by identifying new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive facilities procurement experience with a deep understanding of building/site construction, health and safety regulations, and government building standards.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage long-term projects in the facilities space.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, particularly in supplier management.
  • Experience managing multiple sites (or a large manufacturing site) in terms of sourcing and procurement, including working with dual-source, single-source, and sole-source suppliers.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems and understanding of import/export requirements.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., defence, healthcare, construction) is highly beneficial.
  • Practical problem-solving and project management skills with a focus on facilities management.
