Hard FM Healthcare Account

Buckinghamshire

£65,000 +Package & 15% Bonus

Our client is a leading FM Service Provider and are recruiting for a Head of Estates to deliver the Hard FM services on a Healthcare account. In the role of head of Estates you will have responsibility for leading the engineering department with full responsibility for the P&L of £3m plus the additional works and projects.

As Head of Estates, you will lead the front-line management team responsible for delivering high-quality FM services through our PFI contract. This role involves overseeing planned preventative maintenance, reactive services, and resource management to ensure that client needs are met while adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs). You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and optimising financial performance within agreed budgets.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of facilities management in a dynamic and rewarding environment. You will collaborate with NHS Trust stakeholders and external service partners to deliver seamless hard services, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of hard FM services, including planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Lead and develop a team including finance assistants, helpdesk operatives, and maintenance supervisors.
  • Foster strong relationships with NHS Trust representatives and service partners.
  • Ensure all services comply with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Achieve financial targets by optimising resources and minimising unavailability penalties.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings to monitor service delivery and drive improvements.

What you bring:

Essential:

  • Previous experience managing FM Contracts and influencing change where required, along with customer facing attitude and excellent team building / people management skills.
  • Experience in coaching and influence teams.
  • Services management experience of people and commercial issues
  • Must satisfy a DBS check and health check.
  • Good communication skills with the mental agility to 'think on feet’ and provide convincing practical solutions.
  • Good people-management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a strong bias towards P&L financial management
  • Intelligent approach to performance monitoring including relevant experience.
  • Well-developed co-ordination skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word & Microsoft office.
  • Experience of working to ISO 9001 or similar quality system
  • Available to respond to out of normal hours emergency situations.

Desirable

  • Professional Member of BIFM
  • Qualified to ONC/HNC standard in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Building Services or Building
  • Preferably NEBOSH Qualified
  • Previous experience within the PFI arena
