The ideal candidate:
- Plan and deliver an engaging maths curriculum aligned with educational standards.
- Create lesson plans tailored to different learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver effective and stimulating maths lessons to secondary students.
- Use diverse teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance understanding and engagement.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment.
- Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative methods.
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records of achievements.
- Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs, including support or challenges as required.
- Communicate with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in meetings to address performance and concerns.
- Stay updated on best practices in maths education and participate in professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on maths
- Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
