Safeguarding Officer
- Location: Aylesbury
- Type: Full time, TERM-TIME ONLY
- Reporting to: Head of Safeguarding
- Salary: 31k FTE (26k pro-rata)
Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.
Role Purpose
- Serve as a key contact for safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Provide advice and guidance on safeguarding and Prevent initiatives to students.
- Oversee safeguarding efforts for students in community-based courses.
Responsibilities
- Offer advice and support to staff, students, and others regarding safeguarding concerns.
- Collaborate with external agencies to support student safety and well-being.
- Track and document safeguarding cases, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
- Lead the referral process for safeguarding and Prevent concerns to appropriate agencies.
- Build and maintain relationships with local support organisations.
- Deliver safeguarding training, covering topics like online safety and child protection issues.
Requirements
- Relevant experience
- Experience working with young people.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially.
- Great numeracy and literacy skills Able to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Right to work in the UK
