Safeguarding Officer

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.



Role Purpose

  • Serve as a key contact for safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
  • Provide advice and guidance on safeguarding and Prevent initiatives to students.
  • Oversee safeguarding efforts for students in community-based courses.


Responsibilities

  • Offer advice and support to staff, students, and others regarding safeguarding concerns.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to support student safety and well-being.
  • Track and document safeguarding cases, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
  • Lead the referral process for safeguarding and Prevent concerns to appropriate agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local support organisations.
  • Deliver safeguarding training, covering topics like online safety and child protection issues.


Requirements

  • Relevant experience
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially.
  • Great numeracy and literacy skills Able to work independently or in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Right to work in the UK
