Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.

Role Purpose
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are properly reported and addressed, working to provide the best support for students.
  • Help students build confidence and knowledge to access relevant support services independently.
  • Understand the challenges faced by vulnerable students, such as care leavers or those with mental health issues, and provide crisis intervention when needed to keep them on track.
Responsibilities
  • Handle and respond to emails and phone calls about student welfare and safety, making sure to follow guidelines.
  • Provide support to students with extra needs, such as young parents, young carers, ESOL students and vulnerable adults, helping them stay in their course whenever possible.
  • Offer immediate help to ensure young people and vulnerable adults are safe and protected.
  • Address any safeguarding issues, making sure to follow current laws and legal responsibilities.
  • Work with teams to make sure students with high needs get proper support and a smooth transition.
  • Keep updated electronic records of student concerns, and communicate with parents, carers, senior staff, external agencies, and internal staff when needed.
  • Help manage a group of students by assessing risks, providing necessary support, and coordinating with other agencies when required.
