Lead Protection Systems Engineer

VIQU have partnered with a leading technology company in the energy industry who are growing at an impressive rate and so are recruiting for a lead protections systems engineer. The role will focus on the design and implementation of protection systems within the energy transmission and distribution industry.
The candidate must have a proven track record of producing protection systems solutions, leading a team delivering these solutions, and of identifying risks, and cost tracking.
Requirements of the Lead Protection Systems Engineer:
- At least 5 years of experience with Transmission and Distribution systems and protection relay technology across either GE, Siemens, SEL, ABB.
- Proven track record of leading teams of protection engineers, delivering transmission and distribution projects.
- Deep knowledge of working towards IEC61850.
- Ability to produce concept level designs, supporting the development of protection solutions end to end.
- Full UK drivers license and must be happy to travel.
Responsibilities of the Lead Protection Systems Engineer:
- Lead a project team that delivers protection solutions.
- Mentor junior protection systems engineers.
- Lead the design of protection systems.
- Develop SLD, KLD’s and Concept Level Designs to support solution development and ensure that project / client requirements are fulfilled, including the identification of the most suitable technology for the application.Â
- Produce and review designs including schematics.
- Undertake site visits to help support the tendering team.
