Supply Desk is seeking to appoint a flexible and proactive SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism and global development delay to work 5 days per week in a school located in the Aylesbury area. The ideal teacher will be experienced and equipped with the necessary life skills and experiences in supporting children with severe and complex learning difficulties.

Taking care of students' specific development requirements is vital to the school's success. To guarantee that students behave with integrity and respect for one another, a healthy, safe, and exciting learning environment is implemented. All staff work collaboratively in order to collectively ensure all children are provided the opportunity to achieve the best results possible.

 

The Role and the Ideal Candidate: 

  • Have prior experience or a strong interest in working with people who have special needs. More precisely, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Global Development Delay
  • Have a background in education, care, psychology, or drama, as these are all highly transferable skills
  • Sensitivity and comprehension
  • patience and the capacity to remain cool under pressure
  • Be adaptable and open to new experiences
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of teaching and the ability to design courses
  • The ability to understand child’s reactions
