The School:
We are pleased to be working with an outstanding school in the Aylesbury area that is renowned for providing a nurturing and inclusive environment, empowering students to achieve their full potential, no matter the challenges they face. The school is currently seeking a PMLD Specialist SEN Teacher to support its students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and other staff to plan, create, and deliver engaging activities tailored to the needs of students with PMLD.
  • Develop and implement holistic approaches to learning, focusing on individual action plans and strategies that promote meaningful progress for students.
  • Take a lead role in creating and reviewing Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group or form.
  • Work in partnership with families, external agencies, and school staff to ensure the best possible support for the students.
  • Foster therapeutic relationships with students, ensuring interactions are tailored to each student’s unique needs and abilities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:

  • Previous experience teaching students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) or a passion for supporting students with complex needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEN and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Skilled at managing challenging behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Flexibility to work either full-time or part-time, with fixed working days.
  • A valid, clear DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in supporting students with learning difficulties.
