We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at a school located in Aylesbury. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse abilities. As a SEN Teacher, you will collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to provide personalised and effective learning experiences for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student, ensuring that educational goals are attainable and measurable
  • Deliver lessons using a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to address individual needs
  • Maintain transparent communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home
  • Promote an inclusive classroom environment that encourages understanding, acceptance, and positive social interactions among students with and without special needs
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practises in special education, attending relevant workshops and conferences to enhance professional knowledge and skills
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and respectful classroom environment, providing support to students with challenging behaviours

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Teaching certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and developmental disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
