Location: Aylesford, Kent
Working Hours:
- Full- time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, with a 40-minute paid break.
- There may be occasions when it is necessary to attend out of hours (for example, alarm activation call out) or stay beyond normal working time to resolve urgent issues. In these cases, a timesheet must be maintained clearly defining the circumstances. If authorised, extra hours will be paid within the following month's salary.

Our client is a well-established, retail packaging manufacturer, employing over 100 personnel in the design, administration and manufacturing departments.
Position Overview:
The Facilities Co-ordinator will be responsible for preserving the good condition and infrastructure of their Aylesford site, ensuring that facilities and equipment are safe and functioning well so that their team - your colleagues - can do their best work, in the best possible environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that high standards are maintained and that facilities are safe and always fit for purpose.
- Manage facilities, including maintenance, plant and ground services.
- Manage external facilities contracts such as Pest Control, Workwear, Waste/Recycling & Cleaning.
- Ensure Building is compliant with BRC requirements in preparation for audits where necessary.
- Responsible for overseeing reactive maintenance where necessary, coordinating external tradespeople and contractors.
- Establish a programme of scheduled maintenance tasks, and ensure they are completed within the planned timescale.
- Ensure site machinery such as forklifts and pump trucks are serviced and maintained as necessary.
- Ensure all works and services are conducted in line with business management policies and certification requirements.
- Assist with coordination of works/requirements relating to site utilities and providers.
- To be the first point of contact in the event of a site alarm activation.
- Ensure all relevant risk assessments are up to date i.e fire precautions.
- Ordering of spare parts and engineer visits as required, in liaison with department managers.
- Responsible for managing First Aid and Fire Prevention aids and services, including managing 3rd party training where necessary.
- Ensure staff canteen vending machines are serviced and replenished as required.
- Oversee Projects relating to maintenance of site.
- Responsible for managing regular testing, for example of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, PAT testing of electrical equipment, LEV, maintenance of sewage systems etc.
- To be a key member of the Health & Safety Committee, attending weekly meetings to provide up to date information about work schedules and current issues, and receive feedback from other members.
- Minor site repairs as required and when safe/practical to do so.
Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills.
- Confident and enthusiastic, with a desire to continuously learn and develop yourself and others through mentoring and training.
- Strong awareness of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Willingness and ability to communicate company directives to the team in positive, concise and effective manner.
- IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proactive character of high integrity, accountability and flexibility.
