We are seeking an experienced Estimator specializing in civil engineering and groundwork projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing tender submissions, and providing detailed estimates to support project planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil and groundwork projects, including materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Tender Management: Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to determine project requirements and identify potential risks
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather relevant information and assess conditions that may impact project costs.
  • Budget Analysis: Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and clients, summarizing estimated costs and justifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are aligned with project goals.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and best practices to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field preferred if they have not worried if not
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in estimating for civil engineering and groundwork projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
