The Role

This role is split into two key focus areas:

  1. Factory Optimisation & Design - Supporting the Managing Director and Operations Manager in designing and streamlining the layout and workflow of a brand-new manufacturing facility, including capital equipment selection and supplier engagement.
  2. Continuous Improvement Across UK Sites - Implementing and managing a national Continuous Improvement (CI) system across multiple UK manufacturing sites, driving innovation in manufacturing processes and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a national Manufacturing Continuous Improvement initiative, collaborating closely with MDs, Operations Managers, and Team Leaders.
  • Support the design and layout of the new-build factory, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility for a diverse workforce.
  • Utilise CAD software to create and refine factory layouts, ensuring an optimal workflow.
  • Conduct industrial research and implement best practices in manufacturing processes.
  • Attend daily meetings and apply problem-solving techniques to enhance production efficiency.
  • Track and report on the performance of CI initiatives, ensuring sustained improvement.
  • Work closely with teams across the UK, requiring regular travel to manufacturing sites.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering or time-served apprenticeship to Level 4 minimum.
  • Experience in manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems and management systems.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and project management methodologies.
