Watts Farms is a third-generation family-run farming business, established in 1952. Growers, Packers and Distributors of fresh produce supplying the hospitability industry across Kent, London, and surrounding areas. We have recently diversified into direct Home Deliveries offering freshly picked fruit and vegetables from our own farms as well as a full range of grocery, dairy, alcohol, and pantry goods.

Job Description

As a Customer Relationship Manager at Watts Farms, you will maximise the overall customer experience and commercial sales opportunities, using a combination of professional interactions to build good working relationships, increase sales orders, resolve complaints, and acquire new customers.

Dealing directly with an existing customer portfolio, you will work to provide quality customer service by interacting with the customers both face to face and on the phone, completing new product enquiries and developing customer product range to increase your overall portfolio margin and deal with any enquiries to a satisfactory outcome for both the business and customer.


Some of the key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Organise and attend customer meetings.
  • Manage a customer portfolio up to £10,000,000 annual turnover. This will be reviewed annually and may be subject to change.
  • Upsell new product ranges.
  • Identify areas of low sales/margins and increase within portfolio.
  • Onboard and retain new business leads allocated by management.
  • Build and maintain an excellent rapport with chefs, procurement managers and other key staff via site meetings, telephone calls and emails, maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude and ensuring Watts Farms is always presented in a positive manner.
  • Build strong internal working relationships with other departments within Watts Farms.
  • Promoting the company at trade shows and customer development days.
  • Follow up new sales enquiries delegated by Sales manager, as per new enquiry process.
  • Assist with the on boarding of new groups
  • Build and maintain an excellent rapport with chefs, procurement managers and other key staff.

Requirements for this role:

  • Experienced in Account Management, preferably within the food sector but not essential
  • Great written, verbal & numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and time management
  • Resilient, persistent, and tenacious
  • Confident when engaging with customers and colleagues of all levels.
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach to work with the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Happy to travel with full driving licence and own vehicle
  • Moderate Excel skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have own vehicle

Working Hours

8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

Please note Watts Farms is a 24-hour business, so you may be required to deal with occasional enquiries or issues outside of these hours, and therefore flexibility is essential in order to meet the requirements of the role.
