Day-to-day of the Sales Ledger Clerk Role:
  • Maintain up-to-date billing system and generate invoices.
  • Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
  • Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Generate age analysis and review AR aging to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the Sales Ledger Clerk:
  • Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
